Sport Wales Coach of the Year 2010 Awards

Wednesday 24th November 2010

Sport Wales National Center

Nominations go live on Monday 6th September 2010 - So start thinking of who you want to nominate now!

Coaches are at the heart of sport – whether it’s on the sidelines at the FA Cup Final or at Saturday morning five-a-side. And that’s why Sports Wales wants to recognise people at all levels – including the coach who works morning, noon and night at your local club.

Chair of Sports Wales, Professor Laura McAllister explains:

"Coaches are the lifeblood of Welsh sport, we can’t do without them. The calibre of coaches I come across on a regularly basis is absolutely outstanding. This is the public’s chance to show their appreciation for the people who put in hours and hours of work across the country."

Nominations for the 2010 Awards will open on Monday 6th September so it’s time to start thinking about the coaches in your local area that make a difference. The award categories are:

Female Coach

Male Coach

Community Coach

Coach to disabled sportspeople

Young Coach/Leader

Elite Performance Coach

Volunteer of the year

Coach Educator of the Year

Lifetime Achievement

The deadline for nominations is Friday 1st October 2010 (with the exception of Elite Performance Coach which will be Friday 15th October).

Nomination forms will be available to download from the Sport Wales website on Monday 6th September.
